  • cdrecord - cd burning software does red book TAO and DAO, yellow book in single and multi-session.
  • deutsch - the German translations of the man page and the README's for cdrecord
  • cdwrite - outdated single session and TAO only cd burning software (nonportable Linux only)
  • cdrdao - cd burning software does red book (DAO only). (current version Linux only)
  • cdda2wav - Outdated versions of the classic DAE tool for UNIX (fast but not bitwise correct with some drives) Cdda2wav is now part of cdrtools
  • cdparanoia - alternate DAE tool for Linux being ported for UNIX (slow but tries to be bitwise correct for more drives) Unfortunately not very well maintained since 1999
  • tosha - cdda tool for FreeBSD (only)
  • VCDImager - Vido CD/Super Video CD tool
  • galette - cdda tool for Solaris (only)
  • xcdroast - graphics front end for cdrecord (xcdroast-0.98 is portable)
  • BurnIT - graphics front end for cdrecord written in Java
  • gcombust - graphics front end for cdrecord using the gtk+ lib
  • CDR-Toaster - graphics front end for cdrecord/mkisofs using the Tk
  • ECLIPT roaster - graphics front end for cdrecord written in Phyton
  • Web-CD-Roast - graphics front end for cdrecord using HTML
  • KreateCD - graphics front end for cdrecord using KDE
  • CDRFe - Cdrecord Win32 Frontend
  • CD Dump - CD backup similar to dump but using mkisofs/cdrecord
  • CD ON Dump - CD backup using/cdrecord (Linux only)
  • CD BKup - CD backup using GNU tar
  • backup - CD backup using cpio and fsplit
  • CD backup - CD backup that records from/to binary streams
  • yacdbak - Yet Another CD Backup Tool using GNU tar
  • KisoCD - graphics frontend for cdrecord/mkisofs using KDE
  • grip - graphics front end for cdparanoia and cdda2wav
  • GRABATOR - Audio file handler for cdrecord
  • CDDOIT - New name of GRABATOR
  • cdlabelgen - CD Label generator

  • mkhybrid - hybrid (Rock Ridge + Joliet + HFS) file system image creator (now integrated into mkisofs)
  • cdb - subcode builder/premastering for DAO and RAW mode
  • cdm - CD mirroring/copying software (nonportable Linux only) (Link seems to be dead!!!!)
  • pg - driver software for parallel port adapters (Linux only)
  • binchunker - software to convert PC audio formats (.bin/.cue) to raw ISO or audio format
  • GrammoFile - software to read split and filter analogue audio
  • readxa.c - read xa tracks (Linux only)
  • Fontends - List of cdrecord GUI frontends
  • Apple HFS - HFS Utilities homepage (base for libhfs_iso)
  • File type classifier - file(1) like library (base for libfile)
  • Joliet for Mac - A Joliet Filesystem for Mac OS (not MacOS X)

    Authors please keep in mind to make/keep your tools portable.

    Never issue SCSI commands directly in the OS specific way.
    Use the SCSI library provided with cdrecord instead. It will soon be available as a separate product to make porting easier.
